It is a blessing to welcome you and your children to New Horizon School – Los Angeles (NHSLA). Since its beginning 40 years ago, NHSLA's mission has been to provide Muslim youth with quality academic and Islamic education and a solid foundation to develop their American Muslim identity. The founders of our school knew the importance of investing in our youth – as members of our growing ummah and as citizens of our community – and were among the first to establish an Islamic school in America. We strongly believe our school's mission is crucial to the development of our future leaders and the continuity of our tradition.

Our philosophy at NHSLA centers the holistic development of the child – intellectually, socially, emotionally, spiritually, and physically – and emphasizes play-based learning, which helps foster creativity and critical thinking in our students. Our dedicated team creates a nurturing and enriching atmosphere grounded in Islamic values where children feel safe, valued, and confident to explore and learn about their world. Our curriculum is designed to engage children's natural curiosity and promote a love of learning, while also incorporating Islamic teachings to begin laying the foundation for a strong American Muslim identity.

As a school, we strive to cultivate a strong sense of community among children, families, and staff, reinforcing the importance of respect and collaboration. Our goal is to prepare each child not only for academic success, but also for a life rooted in the teachings and values of Islam, such as kindness, compassion, and community.
