Grade 1 - 5 students are annually administered the Stanford Achievement Test in the following subjects: Reading Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Math Problem Solving, Math Procedures, Language, Spelling, Environment, and Listening.
For the 2017-2018 academic year, our students did very well: 100% of first grade students (10/10) scored above the national average, 87.5% of second grade students (7/8) scored above the national average, 89% of third grade students (8/9) scored above the national average, 91% of fourth grade students (10/11) scored above the national average, and 50% of fifth grade students (5/10) scored above the national average.
Several New Horizon School - Los Angeles students from 2nd grade through 5th grade chose to take the Otis-Lennon School Abilities Test (OLSAT), a challenging exam used by the Los Angeles Unified School District to identify gifted and talented students. Five students were assessed to be gifted and talented. We congratulate our parents, teachers, staff and students for these excellent results.
